THE WORLD
Jonathan Coachman welcomed us to The World. Then we are sent to watch the final 30 minutes of this years Tough Enough 2.
WORKING IN THE RING
Jacob, Linda, Jackie and Kenny were all working in the ring. Al Snow showed them the proper way to do backdrops. All of them seemed to take nice looking backdrops.
Al Snow complimented Jacob saying he has that 'something special' that makes you want to pay to see him (looks like Jacob is ahead on points).
Chavo Guerrero Jr. told us Kenny looked like a 'natural' in the ring and certainly picked up on things quickly (looks like Kenny has scored a point to even up the competition between himself and Jacob).
Ivory told us Linda has excellent physical capabilities (score one for Linda).
And then "Big" John told is Jackie's toughness certainly impressed and could not be overlooked (my it looks like a four-way tie right now).
TRUST IS IMPORTANT
Al Snow told the final four he had trust in them and mentioned to them how it was an important thing. Al told them he was proud of them.
"Big" John told them these last few days were very important and would decide who was going to walk out with the two contracts.
OPTIMUM TRAINING
The final four went to the very last day of optimum training with Rapheal and he ran them through the course. Jackie couldn't participate in this due to her knee injury. After the three finished the course they all grabbed Raphael and dumped him in the water. Kenny commented he would not miss optimum training at all.
DINNER OUT; THE LAST SUPPER
All four went out to dinner with the trainers and "Big" John. Bob Holly lost a bet to "Big" and had to eat everything "Big" ate for two hours. Holly was polluted with junk food and became ill (his own words). Holly went to the bathroom with his fiance and joked about bringing the MTV crew in to the bathroom with him to watch him take a piss. They actually followed him in the bathroom until he made them go away.
BACK AT THE HOUSE
The final four are packing and say goodbye to the house.
LAST DAY OF TRAINING
Kevin Dunn appeared to talk to the final four contestants. He told them their promo work was very important as well as their matches.
BACK AT THE WORLD LIVE
We go back to Coach at The World and they plug the Tough Enough 2 soundtrack and then we got back to see the ladies on their final day.
LADIES ANYONE
Kevin Dunn interviewed Linda. Linda told him she had no doubts she was ready for WWE. Linda felt she made the house an all around better place to be and made the competition better due to her ability. Linda talked about how Jackie was a good competitor and was good in the ring. Linda thinks she is positively going to be the winner of this competition.
Kevin Dunn interview Jackie about being cut from Tough Enough 1 and told her she did not really know how close she came to being cut from Tough Enough 2. Dunn told her if she did not jump in the fountain she would have been gone (we see footage of this). Jackie wasn't so sure about that, but Dunn told her it was so. Jackie complimented Linda on her abilities and said she was a good competitor. Although Jackie did not think Linda was actually passionate about wrestling and thinks it was just something that came along at the time.
PROMOS FOR THE WOMEN
The thing is during these promos the wrestler they are doing the promos about are going to storm in to the room and confront them. But the contestants will not know they are going to appear. It was to see how they would react to the shocking turn.
Linda did a promo about Ivory. Ivory came in and Linda did not seem to back down or be intimidated by Ivory's presence.
Jackie cut a promo on Al Snow. When Al Snow came in he was cussing and swearing and acting the part of a violent deranged heel. Jackie looked really frightened and backed away.
MATCHES FOR THE WOMEN
Ivory vs. Linda. It looked like a really good match. Ivory told us she was having fun beating up Linda. Ivory said they rang the bell before she could allow Linda to have her big comeback. There was really no finish in this match.
Al Snow vs. Jackie. Jackie was working with a bad knee and looked a tad tender in the ring. But she quickly warmed up and put on a decent match with Snow. Al worked the knee most of the match, using the most ring psychology I have seen on a WWE program in a long time. Jackie pinned Al Snow with a backslide (which would have made Flair proud of Snow).
Linda put Jackie over for 'sucking it up' and performing with the bad knee. Bob Holly put her over as well. Jackie said she did not even feel the knee when she was wrestling. Jacob put her over as well and said after watching the women compete he was ready to go out and do his thing.
BACK AT THE WORLD
Lilian Garcia was on and brought out Al Snow. Al Snow talked to Chris Harvard. Harvard told us that unlike Maven he had earned his way in to the WWE and earned a contract with WWE. Harvard said he was the better wrestler out of the two of them and would prove it one day. Al Snow talked about Maven's leg injury.
Ivory talked to the "forgotten one" Nidia. Nidia still doesn't really impress me much when doing promo work. She reminds me of a deer locked on headlights. She doesn't seem to have the ability to choose her words with out making it seem as if she is actually trying to choose her words at the moment she is speaking. Some will say it is the tongue piercing in her mouth. If it is, maybe she should get rid of it. She talked about how she did her first DIVA shoot (guess she is good for something).
ITS TIME FOR THE MEN
Kevin Dunn interviewed Jacob. Jacob seemed to be hesitant during this interview and told Dunn he was a 'slow learner' and had been that way ever since he was a child. Jake told Kevin he had charisma and was looking forward to wrestling Bob Holly.
Kevin Dunn interviewed Kenny. Kenny was nervous and they panned in on his hands and they were shaking. Kenny told Kevin you can not fake your effort and he was not worried about going to the developmental territories and having guys dislike him.
PROMO TIME FOR THE MEN
Same deal with the wrestlers storming in unannounced as with the women.
Kenny cut a promo on Chavo Guerrero Jr. When Chavo came in, Kenny did not back down and kept on going with his promo.
Jacob cut a promo on Bob Holly. When Holly came in. Jacob kept on doing his promo and seemed to stand his ground.
Chavo vs. Kenny. This was a very solid match. I was impressed because it looked so realistic. Kenny hti a la magistral on Chavo to pick up the victory. Jackie told us the match was very entertaining.
Jacob vs. Bob Holly. The match was pretty much a decent squash with Bob Holly dominating Jacob. Holly got the win after the Alabama Slam. Bob Holly complimented Jacob's abilities and Jacob returned the favor for Holly.
RESPECT
"Big" talked about how the final four showed respect for their trainers. He told them since they all made it this far they would get a gift. He gave them their action figures.
FINAL WORDS
Each trainer discussed what they had been through and complimented them on all making it this far. Al was emotional again and called them his kids and said he was proud of them. They all exchanged hugs and said their goodbyes. He told them not to give up if they did not win the contest.
BACK TO THE WORLD!
Lilian brought out Coach and Stacy Keibler. Coach told us JR was not at The World because he was sick but he was watching at home. Stacy told us we would find out what happened in the "hot tub" tonight (with Pete and Jackie). Coach did not want to talk about it. They showed Pete and Jackie and Jackie's boyfriend. Stacy teased it a bit more and said she thinks they had sex. But Coach ended it at that.
Coach and Stacy discussed Maven's broken leg and talked about whether or not the cast from TE1 was tougher then the cast of TE2 (do I see MTV doing some type of a competition show with TE1 v TE2?). Maven could not be here due to his injury.
They showed video highlights of the final four.
AND THE WINNER IS.....
Linda was announced as the official first winner of Tough Enough 2. She walked up to the podium and gave her acceptance speech. They cut her off and went to break. She thanked god, her family, friends and of course her trainers (actually at this moment I thought about what Brian "F'n" Pillman would have said to Linda. "You thanked god, your family, the church choir, but the one thing you forgot to thank was the escort service for providing you with your date here tonight!". Damn, I really miss Pillman!). She then thanked more people including "Big", Raphael, Nidia, Maven and it is no wonder why they decided to cut her short.
They aired a graphic showing the remaining three contestants. But Nidia was in the box that said Jacob. Jackie looked really devastated (she knew she was not going to win).
AND THE WINNER IS.....
In the most shocking announcement of the entire Tough Enough 2 competition, and Stacy Keibler even did a double take when she read the result. She asked if Mr. McMahon knew about this. And then she read the winner and it was Jackie!
THE AFTERMATH
Jacob did not look pleased. He looked really upset. Kenny looked really upset as well but was applauding Jackie (showing class).
Jackie talked about how she had this in her heat. She talked about trying out for Tough Enough 1 and thanked everyone that trained with her. She thanked her mother and boyfriend.
INTERVIEW WITH THE LOSERS
Al Snow interviewed Jacob. Jacob said he was pissed off and was really disappointed and felt at least one guy would have won. He said he was proud of Linda and Jackie though and he would not give up.
Ivory was with Kenny. Kenny congratulated them both and said he was not going to make the comment about how this really wasn't about athletic competition because he did not to go down that route (doesn't he know he did go down that route by mentioning he wouldn't mention it? Or was it his own bit of backwards logic to give them a taste of their own medicine, if that was his intentions, BRAVO!!!).
The winners get contracts, laptop computers and fame.. well, unless they Nidia the championship.
AFTERTHOUGHTS
I think Linda was the best all around competitor in promos, athleticism and ability. She has a bad attitude and I hope she can get over that aspect of her personality. But if she can work on her skills and make them even more polished. She could be a very marketable woman in the WWE Womens division. And she would not be the typical T and A type of a competitor for the division either. She would give the division some realistic athletic credibility. She had a bright future and a ton of potential if she plays ball. Can she do that? I'm not so sure. I have my doubts.
Jackie is the typical T and A selection WWE really liked. If you did not know she has a web service up known as planetjackie.com (hey maybe she could form a team with Planet Stasiak??). She has the right couple of assets to be popular with WWE instantly. She has potential in the wrestling department as well. She can cut decent promos and sucked it up when she was injured. That is always a positive.
Jacob probably blew his shot when he informed Dunn he was a slow learner and needed a lot of time to pick up on things. He was being honest but sometimes that is not the best way to get what you want, I guess.
Kenny is a questionable decision to let go. Like Josh Matthews he was a smaller wrestler with great ability. And WWE is not struggling for smaller wrestlers with great ability. Unfortunately there are 10 or 20 guys on the independent scene or in the WWE Developmental teritories right now that could be called up for the Cruiserweight Division. So I did not think WWE was seriously going to consider giving the win to a smaller wrestler such as Kenny. Which is a shame. He was the best wrestler out of all of the competitors.
But it isn't over for Kenny or Jacob. If they have business sense they should be making plans to work for a group like NWA TNA right away. I think these kids could get over because of the MTV exposure and could even be potential draws for NWA TNA. We will have to wait and see what happens (chances are WWE will sign them anyways).
