JONAH'S GOT ANOTHER STRIKE AGAINST HIM
The show opened with Jonah's doubts about going on the road and being away from his family. Eric talked about how Jonah started to get some doubts about being able to deal with the schedule. Jonah sought out Al Snow to talk to him about his problem.
Snow & Jonah talked about it outside, and eventually "Big" John was involved in the discussion as well. Snow told Jonah he could have a life outside of wrestling, it was basically his choice. "Big" John told Jonah that he has to be sure he wants it because there are five other people in the building who would give their arms to win. Jonah tried to convince them he did want it, but it was obvious to me (and "Big" John as well as it seems) Jonah really is not that committed to being a pro wrestler.
"Big" was upset at Jonah's comments and told Al as much before we go on to the next part of the show.
TRAINING IN THE RING
DeMott & Snow are showing the group some moves in the ring. Jamie comments on how the ring ropes actually hurt when you hit them. "Big" John told the students they would be making dinner for the trainers tonight and would have a special guest. We find out the special guest is Trish Stratus.
THE DINNER PREPARATIONS
John told us that everyone helped out preparing for the dinner by doing a little something. Jonah he said did something, but no one remembered what it was. We saw Jonah playing video games. Showing a bit more of his famous disrespect. Jonah was hesitant about having to sit next to Trish, but they wouldn't change the seating arrangement just for him.
TRISH ARRIVES
Jamie said she looks at Ivory & Trish and doesn't think she measures up to them and has a lot of work to do. Trish talked to the students about her philosophy during dinner. She told them basically the company entrusts each performer with 5 minutes out of a two hour show to do their thing, and it is important to impress the audience at home.
AFTER DINNER CUT
"Big" sat the students down after dinner and told them they should all be proud of themselves but it is a competition and their would be some "cuts".
The students reflected on the decision to make more cuts and wondered which of them would be cut the next day.
AT TRAX WEST
We see them all nervous about who is going to get cut.
THE MEETING
The trainers meet about who will be cut and talk through it. They like Matt but Al thinks his only problem is his height. Jamie is on the edge. John is called a "prodigy". Eric has a great look and Ivory said he is someone the McMahon's could really count on. Bill did not think Justin could make it, he didn't see Justin being in the ring with him. Jonah is OUT according to "Big". Both Al & DeMott think Jonah turned a new chapter and defend him. Al said it would be a great disservice to put Jonah in the WWE right now because he isn't ready though.
BACK AT TRAX
The students are nervous. Matt has concerns about their being more then one cut. Al tells us he does not want to look them in the eye when he does this cut today, but he knows he has too. Bill looked like he did not want to be there either.
Snow told them all to stand up. He told all of them to sit down but both Jonah & Justin were left standing. He told Justin he was cut and then told Jonah to please sit down. The students said good bye to Justin and Justin was gone.
Justin told us this has been so much more then an experience of a life time. Snow told the remaining students this was a business and it was a necessary evil to do what he did and the show must go on.
THE SURPRISE GUEST
Al figured going to lunch with a special guest would cheer up the kids and so they went to lunch with Bradshaw. This was apparently taped the day after Bradshaw had surgery to repair his biceps tear. They all got a chance to drink with Bradshaw. They drank so much that John was sick and has to toss his booze in the toilet. They decided since he was sick, that was enough of the drinking. So that was that.
NEXT DAY BACK TO SCHOOL
We see Al teaching them how to do moonsaults off the top rope. All of them do the moonsault. Jamie even did the moonsault and felt hitting it was a big thing for her confidence level. We see them doing the moonsault minus the padding as well and each of them stuck it on the first try.
THOUGHTS
I think Eric, Jonah and Matt have the inside track to deals with the company (even if they don't win the contract). I think Jamie has a good look and can be marketable. Jonah on the other hand seems to have struck out with me. I know "Big" feels the same way. I just think the guy doesn't respect the business, if he would rather play video games then help cook a special dinner for Trish Stratus, it obviously shows he doesn't respect her enough to care she was going to be there. If that is his attitude, then he doesn't belong in the business. I think he should have been cut with Justin, but I think he was kept around because of DeMott & Snow.
